Areas of specialty:
I studied social sciences at Harvard University and worked in management consulting before earning my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the City University of New York, where I trained in child, adolescent, and adult psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I completed my internship at New York University, in the Manhattan Veterans Affairs Hospital where I trained in individual and group psychotherapy for trauma, as well as cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and health psychology approaches. I continued with post-doctoral studies at the University of Rochester Counseling Center where I focused on treating undergraduate and graduate students, trained in couples and group psychotherapy, and taught and supervised graduate student clinicians. I specialized in working with Eastman School of Music students, addressing performance anxiety, competition, professional decision making, and work-life balance among other issues.
I started my private practice in Rochester, NY in 2014, and continued serving the University of Rochester academic community, as well as older adolescents and young professionals. I offered an interpersonal process group for graduate students and young professionals as an adjunct to individual treatment. I moved my practice to New York City in 2018.
Assistant Clinical Professor, Mount Sinai Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Psychotherapy Supervisor, City University of New York Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program.
My style is warm and collaborative. I seek to create an individualized treatment plan for each client by integrating multiple psychotherapy approaches. I enjoy the creativity this requires, and I am happy to share my thinking with my clients, making them active participants in tailoring their treatment. I begin by offering a free phone consultation to establish if I am a good fit, and then scheduling an in-person consultation to discuss in more depth the client’s goals for treatment, which modalities might best serve them, and how we might proceed.
